TURBULENT HEAT TRANSFER FOR INTERNAL FLOW OF ETHYLENE GLYCOL-AL2O3 NANOFLUID IN A SPIRAL GROOVED TUBE WITH TWISTED TAPE INSERTS

Numerical investigation for turbulent flow of nanofluid (Ethylene glycol/water-Al2O3) is carried out with a volume fraction 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5%. The diameter solid nanoparticles equal to 20 nm. range Reynolds number in this simulation from 6300 27500 through three-dimensional steel corrugated spirally tube. For enhancement the heat transfer performance internal horizontal tube, tube combined aluminum twist tape thickness 0.8 mm width 10 along In present work, same twisted ratios TR=(y/w) are implemented tape. predicted results showed that there clear increase values pressure drop direction flow. Furthermore, friction factor increased because grooved which rise resistance fluid Nusselt VOF nanofluid. These numerical compared experiment found literature good agreement.
